Since it's founding
in 1990 Okerstrom Lang Ltd Landscape Architects has provided
award-winning landscape design, master planning and construction
management services for residential, municipal and commercial
projects throughout the tri-state region of Berkshire, Columbia
and Litchfield counties.
Okerstrom Lang Landscape Architects design philosophy is rooted
in the successful achievement of three principles: coordinated
team approach, harmony of design and integrated construction
process. Our goal on every project, no matter the size,
is to create memorable designs that can be enjoyed for many
years by our clients.
Okerstrom Lang specializes in master planning for both residential
and commercial properties. The firm has a reputation
for fine designs, staying within defined budgets and attention
to the construction process. As Landscape Architects
our approach is to use not only landscaping but design features
that incorporate grading, hardscape, pools, lighting, furniture,
and structures which echo a New England character.
Two key elements of many of our projects are sustainable design
and permitting.
Sustainable, environmentally sensitive design such as building
and tree siting for energy efficiency, low impact septic systems
natural drainage systems (NDS), biofilter trenches, no-mow turf
management, native plantings, etc.
Permitting under the auspices of local zoning by-laws, Massachusetts
Wetlands Protection Act and the newly adopted Scenic Mountains
Act, Okerstrom Lang Landscape Architects are well versed in
the permitting process.
